All the rave
An industry favourite
The CABLE WINE SYSTEMS™ wine racking system was formally introduced to the public at Toronto’s IDS12 (Interior Design Show 2012) where it received rave reviews from the design, building, and architectural communities alike. It has continued to gain in popularity across North America and internationally ever since.
The History of the
CABLE WINE SYSTEMS™ Wine Racking System
This cable wine racking system was developed in 2011 by Steve Papadimitriou, founder of Cable Wine Systems, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Steve was building custom wine cellars at the time and wanted to give his clients an alternative to the wood and metal racking available then. His goal was a sleek, contemporary wine storage system that would complement the materials around it and work as well as it looked. In addition, the CABLE WINE SYSTEMS™ wine racking system successfully managed to merge more traditional perceptions of what constitutes a “wine cellar” with the more minimalist and modern look of many of today’s design trends.

Our Founder
Who Created the Cable Wine System?
Steve Papadimitriou created the Cable Wine System in Toronto in 2011 and founded Cable Wine Systems to bring it to market. He introduced the system to the public a year later at IDS12, Toronto’s Interior Design Show.
His design holds each bottle on two horizontal stainless steel cables. Tension mounts anchor every vertical run at the top and bottom, and solid brass clamps join the cables where they cross. The brass hardware comes in satin black, satin gold, chrome or silver pearl. The rack itself almost disappears, so the bottles look like they are floating. Because the system is assembled piece by piece on site, the same parts can build a small wall display or a floor-to-ceiling cellar, and the cable spacing holds bottles from 500 ml to 1,500 ml.
Steve still owns Cable Wine Systems. The company is based in Ajax, Ontario, works with a partner office in New York, and ships its systems worldwide.

“Even if my project was really small (only 50 bottles), I received a very good support from Cable Wine Systems. All my emails, including the first request done through their website, have been answered within the next business day. I received installation instructions ahead of time and a very detailed invoice to understand the cost of my project. I received all parts 2 days after I sent my order. Everything was well labeled with the right quantities. Furthermore, the replacement parts needed have been shipped within 4 days, no charge and no question asked. I’m very satisfied with the quality of the product and the outstanding Customer support provided.”
